Reanimator is a software consultancy company owned & operated by Eddie Edwards.

I am a mathematician by training (MA from Cambridge University). I offer services mostly to the games industry, but have also worked within telecoms and financial services, and I am open to any opportunities within other industries.

My services mostly consist of porting & optimization work. I am familiar with most of the modern platforms - Windows, OS X, Linux, iOS, PS4, PS5, PSVR1&2, Nintendo Switch, and I have some limited experience with the XBoxes. I am also familiar with most modern graphics APIs - DirectX 9/10/11/12, Vulkan, Metal, OpenGL & OpenGLES (also PS4, PS5 and Switch graphics APIs). I usually program in C/C++/ObjC, Lisp, Python, Lua, Cg/HLSL and GLSL (also PS4/5 graphics language).

Highlights of Reanimator's work include:

  • PS3/PS4/X360/PS5/iOS/Switch ports of Farming Simulator for GIANTS Software GmbH
  • Advanced unified Shader Compiler system (taking single source code into multiple shader languages/models for crossplatform, with heavy optimization)
  • PS3 work on Star Wars: The Force Unleashed
  • PS3 SPU optimization on PhysX 2.8
  • PS3 implementation of Direct3D 9.1 for a client
  • Massive (25x) speedup on G729.A codec running on PS3 SPU & Toshiba SpursEngine
  • HL language implementation for an algorithmic trading system for a client
  • iOS & OS X ports of a client's game engine
  • Complete iOS application delivery for two clients / partners
